Thank you for showing an interest in becoming a French or Spanish teacher. We run over 50 clubs in North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, North Wiltshire and South Oxfordshire. We are part of an international franchise which is extremely successful and popular.

Clubs
We are always interested in hearing from new teachers who are fluent in French or Spanish, reliable and have their own transport. Club hours are mostly lunchtimes and after-school in primary schools.

In-school Teaching
We also have contracts with schools to teach French or Spanish as part of their school curriculum. Only teachers with primary school training and experience would be considered for these positions.

Training
Training is given to all new teachers and there are training sessions offered to all teachers from time to time on topics such as classroom management, using IT equipment in the classroom, putting on plays, games and songs, in-school teaching.

Teaching Materials
All material is loaned to teachers, including all lesson plans, games, toys, teaching props.

Profile of our teachers
We look for people who will be animated and fun, know how to come down to the children's level and yet be able to maintain sensible discipline during the club (not always easy!). Because the children get so attached to their teacher, we need teachers who we can really rely on, and who will be able to commit to 1 academic year (ie 6 terms).

How to Apply

1. Please return the form below with all details of your work with children and two references.

2. You will then be invited for interview at our office near Cirencester or at a location nearer to your home. At the interview I will explain the training and show you our material. There will also be a brief discussion in French or Spanish. If we decide to go ahead, we will ask you to complete the teachers agreement and the CRB disclosure form. Please bring your passport and driving licence plus any other certificates such as birth or marriage. The more proofs of identity that we can complete on the form, it seems the quicker the turn around for getting approval. The government charge for the disclosure is £40 (make cheques payable to Le Club Francais). The cost may be refunded to you on completion of one accademic year. If however you already have an enhanced CRB, we may not have to re-apply. Please bring it with you so that a copy can be made.

3. Pay rates depend on experience and whether or not you are teaching in-school or after-school.

4. I can arrange for you to observe an existing club so that you can see if our method of teaching appeals to you.
